Intro:
Hello :p
After a period of this run being up on YouTube, I am now making my DMD 100% SB run available for downloading on PB. It will also be available on www.thehandvseye.com when it opens again to the public - yes, I gave Gem my permission ;p. A note: Yes, I used LDK, not Dante. This is mostly for the first mission when I simply could not be arsed using a fresh Dante and the crappy Force Edge sword (although I have done so before - see here) - ironically enough, I got surprisingly stuck with LDK, and probably took as long to get through M1 with him as I would have done with Dante. However, I like using LDK anyway: his pimp monocle and shadow (:p) appeals to me, plus I love the Sparda form he gets with Ifrit DT. Let it be noted that, apart from Mission 1, LDK has no strength advantage over Dante whatsoever.
So, what does this run consist of? It's an all-SB DMD mode game, completed to 100%. That means I start out with a fresh character in a brand new game and end up with a maxed-out character. Not only that, but I collect all items and blue/yellow orbs to be found in-game, and complete all 12 Secret Missions. Items to be found are: 7 Holy Waters, 5 Untouchables, 6 Devil Stars, 44 blue orb fragments and 2 whole blue orbs, and 7 yellow orbs. Since the vast majority of items and yellow orbs are found in the middle third of a game, I had quite a big task deciding what to collect when: completing the Secret Missions tends to grant a generous time leniency, however, so... *shrugs >_>*
I won't give any notes for individual missions here: if you want detailed notes, then go to www.youtube.com/Joch1 and check the description to the right of the video player - in some cases, my notes are quite detailed indeed, as I was giving my impressions fresh from having just SBed the mission. As for the quality of the run, I will leave you to be the final judge. Suffice for myself, I'm mostly happy with it. There were some distinctly shaky moments, and I do wish I didn't end up using a turbo against Mundus 1 in the end (Mundus 1 is the one boss in DMC1 that I really despise), but, overall, I do think it's a high quality run. I would consider re-recording it one day, but only if I could get a significant advance in gameplay and video quality.
As ever, if you're an IE user, right-click on the link and select "Save target as"; if you're a Firefox user, you can just click straight on the link to download. The format is in .avi - if there is missing audio/picture, then it's almost certainly a codec issue. I use the Xvid codec normally, so installing that codec on its own should be enough. However, I like to install the k-lite codec package, which just gives you everything basically :p
Happy watching! To the one person who actually reads this :p
